VFA have just stocked five millionth fish

We have just stocked the five millionth fish enroute to a record breaking target of 10 million by April this year.

That’ll deliver on a critical commitment in the Victorian Government’s $35 million Go Fishing plan, with support from your recreational fishing licence fees, to get more people fishing, more often. And it’s on top of 8 million fish stocked last year, a record at the time. Some days our team at Snobs are releasing 300,000 fish! They range from Aussie bass in the east to trout and salmon in the southwest and Murray cod across the north. Great to see Nagambie is part of this record plan. And don’t forget the yellas because there’s 4.6 million of them in the mix too. All those species and more have been spread across 183 lakes and rivers so far and that number will only grow as we push towards 10 million in the next few months. This record stocking effort is an investment in the next 10 years of your fishing: more hook ups, fewer carp and booming rivers and lakes. There’s certainly lots to love about fishing in Victoria!
